The names doing the rounds are fan picks, nothing more: Michele Morrone, Aleksa Gavrilovic, Gabriel Basso and Trevor Wagner. Those posters you keep seeing are fan edits. Nobody from the film made them, and none of these actors is linked to it.
So what does the role need? The voice first. Zade is a man you hear before you see. Then stillness. He doesn’t fidget, doesn’t rush. And restraint, mask on or mask off: the sense that he’s holding far more back than he’s letting go.
That’s where fan casts tend to miss. They pick a face. A face is the easy part.
