InsatiableSpice level, tropes & is it dark romance?
by Leigh Rivers
Spice 4/5 (Explicit) · Darkness 5/5 (No light) · 11 trigger warnings flagged · Series: The Edge of Darkness
Insatiable opens The Edge of Darkness trilogy. Kade Mitchell has spent years in the underworld hating Stacey Rhodes, the girl who broke his heart, and watching her anyway, and anyone who got too close to her did not stay close for long. Now he has a short stretch of freedom, he is home, and he is done keeping his distance. Hate and want in the same breath, a second chance nobody asked for, and an author who warns you herself that it runs very dark. This note is ours. It is not a publisher blurb.
First published: August 2023 (self-published); a new US edition followed on 11 August 2026. Book 1 of The Edge of Darkness.

Insatiable trigger warnings
Book-specific flags taken from the author's content warning page, grouped by us. Leigh Rivers publishes one warning list for the whole Edge of Darkness trilogy (Insatiable, Voracious and Restitution), so some of these may sit in the later books. Also on that list: drug use and withdrawal, drugging, forced sex work, attempted suicide, pregnancy loss, forced cannibalism, implied cheating, and child sexual abuse that is mentioned but not detailed. The author notes the sexual abuse is not between the main characters. Read the author's list.
