"He'd burn the world for her" became a whole type, and Alex Volkov is where it started. He leads Ana Huang's Twisted Love. He's 26, scarily clever, and so cold his best friend's sister wonders if he's a robot.

Who is Alex Volkov?
He lost his family young and has been planning revenge quietly ever since. He has hyperthymesia, so he remembers nearly every day of his life in detail. Good for business. Brutal for grief. 160 IQ, first millions made in school, a five-year degree done in three. When Josh leaves the country and asks him to keep an eye on Ava, Alex moves in next door. She's warm. He's ice. The thaw is the book. Fair warning: this is spicy contemporary, not true dark romance.
What does Alex look like?
Jade-green eyes, sharp jaw and cheekbones, lean build, thick light-brown hair. Smells of wood and spice, drives an Aston Martin, never raises his voice.

Red flag: he'll hold a grudge for 15 years. Green flag: he'll remember your coffee order for life.
